ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of painting, collage and video animation, with charcoal, ink, paper and ash as my primary materials.

My work begins where speed ends. In an era where algorithms calculate the shortest route, I deliberately choose the detour and the standstill. As a Painter on the Road, I choose wandering over the autopilot, as a practice and as a conviction. I erase, tear, and rebuild layer by layer. My materials are not passive tools I bend to a result, but equal partners in an unpredictable dialogue. The scars of searching remain visible. They are not the remnants of the work, they are the work.

My practice is a plea for Artistic Intelligence: a deliberate choice for the analogue, the handmade and the slow. Where algorithms strive for seamless perfection, the mistake in my craft is not a flaw but the absolute proof of human presence. Imagination is not a luxury. It is an existential necessity.

Currently I am working on Painter on the Road, a series of eleven works inspired by Van Gogh’s lost self-portrait from 1888. The project maps an existential journey in eleven Stations, from a dark and fearful world to finding one’s own bliss, in a time of AI and image poverty.
